OK.  This thought actually woke me up in the middle of the night.  
Yes, I'm obsessive with these wonderful books!

Dumbledore and Harry had trouble both fitting into the boat.  DD said 
it had something to do with the fact that LV wouldn't be worried about 
the number of people, but the power of the magic involved.  One 
powerful wizard would be ok, but two obviously wouldn't work.  
So . . .  If it was indeed Regulus, could it be that Kreacher was the 
other "person" helping him obtain the locket?!?  Am I on to something, 
please oh please?!
