Maybe it's that Harry's already passed his OWLs, even though he hasn't
gotten the letter, and so won't be underage.  That, or Dumbledore, as
Headmaster of Hogwarts, will be able to instantly get rid of any
accusations since he was present and performing the magic.  Or maybe,
you just don't question 'The Chosen One'. :)

Whatever it was, I'm glad he did it - that scene was great.
