The way I see the Good Luck Potion, is that it is
almost a parallel to a drug. I mean, even Ron, who
only thought he had taken the potion before the
Qudditch match, commented on how 'good' it felt. It
makes you feel powerful, confident, like you can do
anything in the world.
But with drugs, the more you take them, the less
effect they have on you, hence you have to take more
and more just to reach the same state you took the
first time. Eventually, (I think I'm not a drug
addict, so I don't know this by experience! *eg*) some
people become so dependent on the drugs that they have
to take them just to feel NORMAL. Maybe it works the
same way with Felix Felicis.
The more you take of it, the less effective it
becomes. So if you start drinking it all the time, you
might become horribly addicted and start depending on
it in ways that hinder your every day life. This could
be the reason people don't use it on an every day
basis. It's too dangerous to use all the time.
