I don't really buy it, but I'll grant you the Pensieve.
But what about when Harry actually reads Snape's mind during the
Occulmency lesson? Does Snape *normally* see himself "outside over
there"? I think psychologists have a word for this sort of thing, but
I can't remember what it is.
