You bet that two people of the same gender can be true and

people of the same gender can NEVER be lovers, then what is that
called?
There isn't too much in the canon to support the Remus/Sirius as
lovers theory, BUT in the FILM, JKR specifically says that there are
hints that are congruent with canon, and that there's nothing in the
film that is NOT congruent with canon..and in the film...we hear
Snape say "oh, bickering like an old married couple..."....also
Cuaron refers to Lupin as everyone's favorite gay uncle, and there
are other indicators in the film...if JKR had been uncomfortable it
wouldn't have happened...
