What bugs me about this piece of information is not the identity of
the barman. Although maybe it would if I thought about it long
enough--the ramifications that is; I know it's Aberforth.
What I want to know is this: If Snape was thrown out *only a short
way* into the prophecy how does Trelawney know he was there that
night? Did she come out of her trance just long enough to register
the commotion at the door, and then go back into it?
