It is canon that Hermione draws the *conclusion* that 
Eileen Prince is Snape's mother.  We are not shown the 
evidence on which she based that conclusion, so we can't 
judge whether it was warranted or not. (If we had been 
shown the _Prophet_ articles word-for-word, it would be 
a different story.)  Hermione is not always right.

For that matter, Aberforth was alive and well at the 
funeral, so if he was impersonating DD on the tower his 
death would have to have been faked. (Or someone else 
is impersonating him.)
