Significance of the term "Dark Lord"

While it does seem to have Death 
Eater connotations, I suspect "Dark
Lord" is also occasionally used by
the good guys as a short-hand term
to describe LV.  (Agreed, Carol -- 
"He Who Must Not Be Named" becomes 
tedious after a while!)  Even Ginny
has been known to use it -- the last
line of the singing valentine she sent
Harry in CoS was "The hero who conquered
the Dark Lord."  ...Or maybe that was a 
really clever clue about her posession! :-)
