But redemption - at least in a Christian sense - doesn't mean that
lawbreaking is overlooked. There are examples of folk who have become
Christians when they were already in a prison cell and that didn't earn
them a pardon. They still had to deal with the results of their wrongdoing.
They were able to show their change of heart and its effect on their life
style after they had finished their pounishment for whatever they had
done wrong.
Certainly within the Baptist church, I know of one minister who had been in
prison when he experienced this and he used his experiences to develop a
very effective ministry to the underprivileged and lawbreakers with whom
he came in contact.
