Ken writes:  As a Scot I have always pronounced it as we do the "ch"
in "loch" - a-ch-ee-o with the ch sounding like you are clearing your
throat.  Given where JKR lives I suspect that might be a close
approximation to what she had in mind.  But has anyone asked her?
