Nancy, 
  As for the phoenix feather's in GOF on pg 697 of
the US version DD tell Harry with no two way about it
the feather's are indeed from Fawkes. Speaking of
Fawkes let me toss something out there and see what
people think. Fawkes knows Harry and that he is loyal
to DD. Could he help Harry out to any degree in his
quest?
