Despite that she has killed beloved characters and that there are more
deaths to come, I just can't imagine Rowling ever killing off Harry.
Why? Because Harry = hope. He's the Boy Who Lived and I can't see
Rowling ending the series on such an awful, tragic note. If the Boy Who
Lived died after everything, it would send out a message that there is
no hope and, while obviously I have no right to claim what she thinks
and believes, I just can't see Jo writing such a tragic, despairing
ending to a series which has been all about a boy trying to find his
place in the world. I'm just completely convinced that Harry will live
and if he does die, I'll be very shocked indeed.

Can you also imagine the huge public outcry that would happen if Harry
met his maker in book seven? Not that I don't think that would ever
stop Jo, but I can just hear furious parents and heartbroken readers
reactions. I think Harry dying would create an uproar, and people would
be angry at the series ending on such a depressing, hopeless note.

What are your thoughts on this?
