When I said that one of the conditions might have been no contact, I didn't mean
that it was a condition set by DD, but one set by Petunia.  "Ok, I'll take my
sister's brat, but I don't want your lot sticking your noses into how I raise
him."

And we do meet Hermione's parents.  In COS they come to Diagon Alley to get her
school supplies, and while they are described as a little nervous--who wouldn't
be--they don't seem nearly as discombobulated as one would expect a couple of
Muggle dentists.
