It all comes down to trusting Dumbledore's judgement. He was at the
trial and when asked if Barty Jr was innocent by Harry he said he
didn't know.

As to that, I have no idea.
So the evidence was not sufficient to remove Dumbledore's doubts as to
Barty's innocence. JKR has said she speaks through Dumbledore and
Hermione. Ergo I still it is still possible that 19 year old Barty Jr
was innocent of crimes against the Longbottoms - whatever his other
crimes may have been.
