Bart (wildly speculating, but isn't it fun?): 
Hmmmmm....

If WE (and Harry) have only heard part of the prophecy, then the rest of the prophecy could have mentioned Dumbledore's death, and hold the explanation as to WHY Dumbledore knew that he could trust Sevvy.
