Rowena: As I have observed before from Gof on DD had good reason to
hope that Harry could survive the final confrontation. However as he
himself says it's 'just a guess, though my guesses are usually good.'
IMO Dumbledore does not confide this hope to either Snape, or by
extension Harry, precisely because he is *NOT* sure and doesn't want to
raise false hopes.
