That would explain why Dumbledore lied to Harry but it would not
explain why Dumbledore lied to Snape. Besides, if it were true don't
you think Dumbledore would have said at King's Cross "I knew you would
live from day 1 Harry".

Not according to the book:

"If I know him [Harry] he will have arranged matters so that when he
does set out to meet his death, it will truly mean the end of Voldemort".
 
I don't think Dumbledore could have been much clearer on the subject.

And the fact that one Horcrux remained greatly cushioned the blow.

That had nothing to due with a Horcrux, it was Harry's wand.
Dumbledore said "Your wand recognized him [Voldemort] when he pursued
you, recognized a man who was both kin and mortal enemy, and it
regurgitated some of his own magic against him".
