Lynda:

Bill left school before Harry learned he was a wizard, so his skills and
knowledge are basically an unknown quantity. We know he is a curse breaker
for Gringotts, but other than that, he's pretty much an unknown as far as
magical ability is concerned so there's no way for us to know, before
reading the last book if he will be crucial or not. Having said that, its a
good theory and completely plausible.
