It's not like we have a privileged access to his head, you know. At 
least, *I* couldn't find one, even unprivileged. Which is precisely why 
I felt so irritated when I finished DH. Even during the King's Cross 
chat, Dumbledore didn't really explain anything. Oh, he did elucidate 
Harry as to why it was so important for him to understand the nature of 
the Death's Gifts (and even that was somewhat lame), but he did not 
clarify why on earth he tried to distract Harry from the Horcrux Hunt 
just to name one issue. So I can only take your word for it that it all 
made sense inside that extraordinary brain. I, however, am not any 
wiser.
