Lily possibly could have done it, couldn't she? She was scaring
Petunia by swinging as high as she could go and then lightly floating
to the ground after being tossed high into the air by momentum.
The fact that doing this also frightened her mother might be a reason
she never perfected the ability?  Or you have to born with the
ability but it's very difficult to master? Or it's just another JKR
endowed ability Snape had in common with her that drew him to her?
