I agree totally! I'm guessing, though, that they weren't actually there, they were just pulled 
up out of Harry's mind, saying the things he needed them to say, so that he could go 
ahead with what he had to do. Like you, I think if they had actually been there, they would 
have begged him not to do it. I think, also, that it's a tribute to that scene in The Lion, The 
Witch and the Wardrobe, where Aslan walks to the White Witch's camp, accompanied by 
Susan and Lucy, and all he wants is not to be alone.
