Speaking of tangents, I was reading over my post and
this made me laugh out loud:

While I can produce an astonishing number of mistakes per
post, it's rare that I can make *two* mistakes in a single word.
I didn't mean "minnow," I meant "winnow," which is incorrect.
If he were winnowing out the promising books, that would
mean he was taking them *out* of consideration.
I should have said he was "ferreting" out the promising stories.
What would be the proper cliche.
