The best way would be to Stun and then to take the wand of the Stunned
adversary - this way you get both the short-term and the long-term
advantage :-). It's a shame no one ever does that (except for
Grindelwald, but he *first* took the wand, *then* Stunned its master).
Maybe most wizards are not familiar with the wandlore and don't know
about wands switching allegiance? But even if they don't know,
wouldn't it be logical to take the wand of the Stunned opponent and
break it in half, so that he wouldn't be able to fight after he wakes
up? Hermione was right about a lot of wizards not having "an ounce of
logic" :-).
