There is another confusing thing about this whole wand-mastery
conundrum. Harry disarmed both Draco and Bellatrix, irrc, but he chose
Draco's wand because it felt "friendlier". Yet, Belatrix's wand was
also won by Harry and by rights should have changed its allegiance to
him. But then, how does one master an unfriendly wand? One cannot
compel it as one would a house-elf, since its allegiance is not
permanent. Essentially it means that if a wand feels like it, it
recognises a new master in one who "won" it, but if it doesn't
 well,
it doesn't. Which rather undercuts the whole idea of "winning the
allegiance". (And how chivalrous it is to saddle Hermione with a
decidedly uncooperative wand, whose allegiance she couldn't even
legitimately claim, incidentally?)
