SSSusan:
I concur... but I also admit that it feels weird that vision can't easily be
corrected in the WW. Like Marion mentioned, there are lens implants -- or
LASIK, as I've had -- which very quickly corrects vision for us Muggles.

Sherry now:
As a person who has been totally blind since about age five, I found the
WW's inability to correct vision extremely refreshing! How often in my life
have people come up and said to me, "why can't they just do an operation?
Have you tried taking vitamin A? What kind of sin did you or your parents
or whatever do to make you be blind?" And please, that last statement was
not aimed at my true Christian friends who have never said such ridiculous
things to me. Just a bit of the nonsense people have said over the years,
things that were particularly harmful and painful when I was a child, trying
to learn to accept my life as it is. In books and movies, far too often a
blind character can suddenly see again by the end of the story. But the
human eye, as well as other things that go into being able to see is so
delicate yet so complex. Though I didn't think much about it with the HP
series, once someone mentioned the idea of why can't wizards heal vision
problems, I realized how refreshing it was for me that at the end, Harry
still needs his glasses.
