Pippin:
Because who am I to say what choices Voldemort will make? Harry can be
100 per cent sure that Voldemort as he understands him is not going to
repent, but can Harry be sure that his understanding of Voldemort is
correct? He's been wrong before!
In any case, Dumbledore, or the part of Harry that thinks like
Dumbledore, said that Harry's blood had given Voldemort one last hope
for himself. We don't know whether Harry believed this or not.
But certainly Harry must perceive a difference between the Voldemort
who expected Lily to be "sensible" and let him kill her son, and the
one who realized that watching Draco fail and pay the price would be
torture for Lucius and Narcissa! Voldemort put his new-found abilities
to evil use, but there's no doubt he had developed some.
Voldemort has never wanted to feel remorse, never wanted to repair his
soul, but who is Harry to decide that he shouldn't be given the
opportunity to do it?
