Steve responds:  We were talking about Snape's belief in Lily admiring him joining the DE's, not whether Lily herself did in fact admire him for doing so. JKR said that he (Snape) thought that Lily would admire him if he joined the DE's and you wrote that that sounded ridiculous. I asked for canonic evidence that Snape in thought or spoken dialogue mentions that Lily's feelings towards Avery or Mulciber meant she wouldn't admire him becoming a DE.  You didn't do so. So while your quotes were nice, and I totally agreed with them accurately showing Lily's pov, they didn't pertain to the question at hand concerning Snape's POV, and his perception of what Lily thought.
