It's also a bit illogical for her to memory charm her parents
unless it was *without* consent. If they were willing to move to
Australia in the first place, then they could just as easily pretend
to be Wendell and Monica Wilkins as be charmed into believing
that they are.
So, charming the Grangers to believe that they are different people
won't make any difference to their being traced. It will only make
a difference to whether or not the Death Eaters get any information
from them if they are traced to Australia. Actually, it would put
them at greater risk, since they would have no idea that the
Death Eaters might be coming after them or what to do if they
did. <SNIP>

I disagree. I think it can make a huge difference if Grangers will read about Hermione being caught and tortured by DE for example if they are pretending to be someone else, OR if they would read that imaginary tale planted by DE to make them come out and save their daughter when they truly **believe** that they are somebody else.
I do not know about you, but no matter how much I will be pretending that I am someone else, I will run as fast as I can to save a child in my family, pretended indentities be damned. But if I will not remember that I know this child, **then** I will stay put.

Alla
