They were captured around Easter (Draco was home from Hogwarts). As for the battle, it happened at the beginning of May, because May was mentioned in Ch.26, the morning of Gringotts break-in. I remember reading somewhere (not in the book though) that the battle happened on May 2nd, but I can't remember where :-).
