Keep in mind, Lord V. is not exactly presented as being the 
sanest person in Wizarding Britain by a very long shot.  It 
might have been because Narcissa was standing closest to 
Harry, or because he wanted to get a peek down the front of 
her robes (and hope to hell Bellatrix didn't catch him looking 
at her sister)

Hmm.. do you think that LV even had those kind of emotions? We 
know he wasn't capable of love, but of lust?

He might have understood lust. Maybe as something to get over 
quickly. When Harry told him that Snape loved Lily he replied 
"he desired her..."
