I agree. By the final book he was a very nice character and I was very sad that JKR decided to sacrifice him. It also was tragic about Hedwig.
Actually, I was more upset about Hedwig than I was about Dumbledore -- it always seemed that Dumbledore would have to die before Harry could come into his own.
Back to Topic: It seemed strange, knowing how Harry felt about fame, that Ron would believe him capable of putting his name in the Goblet of Fire. I'm sure it stems from the fact that he was always in the shadow -- of his brothers and of Harry -- and he was a little jealous of Harry's fame.
