Oh the great joy that was receiving an invite here and once again 
feeling safe in the embrace of my first HP fandomers.

21

***Family:
Single but *in love* (ssh). Divorced parents whom I both love dearly 
and see in equal portions, two younger brothers who drive me nuts.

***Home
Well, since I spend most of my time at school (summer included) we'll 
call it Morningside Heights, Manhattan, NYC.

***Birthday, Place of Birth:
Oct. 9, 1981. Albuquerque, New Mexico (born and raised until I went 
off to college)

***Education/Job/Role in Life etc:
Will be entering my senior year at Barnard College of Columbia 
University. Working towards my BA in English Literature with a 
concentration in Film Studies. Up until my past semester in England, 
I was a pre-med... I am dropping the ambition for now, will return to 
it with post-bac work.
Current hope for a job in film development with a company here in 
Manhattan... we'll see what happens next spring. 

***Other things we might want to know about you:
Wow, how very non-interesting I feel...I eat everything, tend to be 
hopelessly in love with fellow Columbia male scholars, and I enjoy 
playing my cello and the piano when I have the time.  

***First contact with Harry Potter:
Picked up PS/SS to read on the plane to NYC as I entered college, 
became addicted and spent orientation hidden in lounges devouring the 
other three. 

***Favourite Potter things (books, characters, ships, fics, objets 
d'Art, general enthusing):
Bookswise, I have to go with PoA, though I still like to reread the 
end bits of GoF. Slight leanings to the H/H ship, otherwise would 
like to remain a Swiss, I have a soft spot for the FF of my close 
friends (Ebony, Cassie Claire, Lori Summers, Penny&Carole, and Barb) 
and I have never read anything beyond these classics.

***Extent of Potter obsession:
I have actually toned down significantly this year in outward 
appearance. My Potter time has overlaped my college experience...dorm 
walls in the past have had every inch covered in Potter-related 
things, from Starling's art to magazine articles, to pictures taken 
at the Premiere parties of the films. HP4GU meets still bring fond 
memories of great people and good fun. 

***Other interests/activities:
Sucked into the Lord of the Rings phenomenon, both the books and the 
films. I am uber-involved on campus, ranging from being an Admissions 
Student Officer, head of the Student Gov tripartite for student life, 
playing the snare in CUMB (the band), acting in the Shakespeare 
troupe, and playing my cello.   
 

***Current/recent reading:
"His Dark Materials" series - Philip Pullman; "Catch-22" - Joseph 
Heller; "Coraline" -Neil Gaiman

***Current/recent listening:
Radiohead's new album, the Matrix Reloaded score (the second disk 
with only instrumental music), and repetitive need to hear Jeff 
Buckley's Hallelujah.

***Current/recent viewing:
No television, though have taken an interest in old films. Yesterday 
included viewings of "The Manchurian Candidate" and "12 Angry Men"
