***Name:
Naama Gat
***Nicknames/IDs:
naamagatus
***Age:
37
***Family:
Two parents, one sister, one adopted sister, one brother, assorted
nieces and nephews (a brand new one, too!). I'm single and live with
my dog and two cats.
***Home
A villagy kind of place, near Jerusalem, Israel.
***Birthday, Place of Birth:
14th April, Israel.
***Education/Job/Role in Life etc:
BSc in Biology/Computer Science. Then spent almost eternity on MA in
study of reliigons, for which I still have to write a thesis. Working
as technical writer and as clerk in a used books store.
***Other things we might want to know about you:
Heterosexual, omnivorous, not-so-quietly socialist, went through
(still going, hopefully nearing the end) a very long therapy.
***First contact with Harry Potter:
Sometime on April, 2000. When staying with my sister for Passover,
looked for something to read before going to sleep and found PS (in
Hebrew). But only became a true fan after reading GoF for the second
time.
***Favourite Potter things (books, characters, ships, fics, objets
d'Art, general enthusing):
Favorite book is GoF. Don't have any merchandise stuff and haven't
liked the things I've seen. HATE the movies. Love everything in the
books, but favorite character is probably Hagrid. Also adore the
ghosts, particularly Moaning Myrtle.
***Extent of Potter obsession:
Not very extensive. Read the books many times, but apart from that
participating in the HPFGU group(s) is the full extent of my
obsession.
***Other interests/activities:
Humanities (history, philosophy) and social science. Gardening. Way
too much television. Taking my dog for walks and sniffing the
fantastic fragrances of fig trees, rosemary, fields baking in the
sun, pine trees that make up the Jerusalem air right now.
***Current/recent reading:
"Heart of Darkness" (current), "Soviet Marxism" - Marcuse
(incomprehensible), "New Age Religion" - Hanegraaf, various Dick
Francis books (entertaining), various Barbara Michaels (ditto).
***Current/recent listening:
Steely Dan's "Two against Nature" (wonderful!), Barry Sacharoff (an
Israeli rock singer - very, very good), Joni Mitchell, and always
Bach and Mozart.
***Current/recent viewing:
Haven't been to the cinema in ages. Last one? I think LOTR II.
