Introduction

Hello all,

though I guess a few people here might remember me from HPFGU, I read
that new joiners were encouraged to post an introduction, so...

My name is Monika, I am 44 years old (already!), and I was born and
still live in Germany (apart from a *very* brief intermezzo in France
about 15 years ago where I was decided to live, but it didn't work out
;)). I'm a trained translator for French, but since I couldn't make a
living out of translating books, it has since become a hobby.

I live in southwest Germany, in a small village north of Karlsruhe, a
town on the edge of the Black Forest. If I want to leave the hot and
subtropical Rhine Valley, I only need to drive about 40 minutes, and
I'm surrounded by green mountains. :) To give you a better idea where
to look, Heidelberg is about 40 minutes away in the opposite
direction.

It's now exactly three years since I discovered the HP books, I read
them all for the first time a couple of weeks before GoF came out.
Should I admit that I wasn't really hooked until PoA... Needless to
say that Sirius is my absolute favourite character and I doubt this
will ever change. I guess I have a penchant for tragic characters,
can't help it. And maybe an exaggerated sense of justice. I just found
it impossible not to love him, so there you are. ;-)
