I have to say that the Trafalgar Tavern is one of my favourites - an
ex boyfriend used to play in a jazz trio there a few years ago, so it
holds some happy memories. However, unless it's a nice day and you
can go outside, last time I went in there it was a bit on the dingy
side.

If you walk further along the river, away from Greenwich, you come to
the Cutty Sark pub, which is better. It has seating outside,
overlooking the river, is quite an old, picturesque, traditional
looking pub, and during the day it isn't as busy as those in the
middle of Greenwich, as they are always packed full of tourists and
market-goers. (It is confusing that this is the pub called the Cutty
Sark, when it is nowhere near - the nearest pub to the Cutty Sark is
the Gypsy Moth, which is OK but a bit plastic.)

So, the Cutty Sark is the one I would arrange for a relatively
civilised and peaceful drink. It isn't far at all from the centre of
Greenwich, and the walk to it along the river is quite pleasant.

Catherine
BTW: You want us to confirm - I'll be there!
