of my insight into British homes -- what was it about the Dursley
place that didn't seem right to you? Was it something related to
the books, or to the general Dursley-class lifestyle?

More specifically I thought it was much too small. It seemed that
they only really had one room downstairs - a kitchen which opened
onto a living room. In the books they have a kitchen (which is big
enough to have a kitchen table), plus a separate dining room and a
living room. These are all mentioned in CoS, so I'm wondering how
they're going to do the Dobby scenes with Harry in the kitchen, as if
they use the room lay out they had for PS/SS the Dursleys would see
Harry and Dobby run into the kitchen. Given the Dursleys pretensions,
I though that they would have a bigger house.

(I alsways imagined a 1930's style house rather than a modern one as
did many of my friends, but this a perception rather than canon - it
was just strange that so many of us shared it).
