You should see her as Aunt Betsy Trotwood in the BBC production of David 
Copperfield with a 10 yr. old Daniel Radcliffe ;-) She's brusque and seemingly 
mean at first, but her real nature is revealed later on and she certainly loves 
David ;-)
She's done tons of films though; a very long and distinguished career. The 
Prime of Miss Jean Brodie is perhaps her best known - she was nominated for an 
Oscar for it. She won an Oscar for California Suite in the 70's.
Not to mention her long career in the theater. She didn't get made a 'Dame' 
for nothing <g>
