Geoff (later):
I think it's more than "look". The scenes in the trailer include subtleties
which give a different impression to the book. I have commented already
but to enlarge a little further: I am assuming that the trailer scene with
Voldemort gripping Harry is from the last confrontation. Voldemort thinks
that he has killed Harry and his minions are bent taking over Hogwarts and
crushing any remaining resistance when the Boy-who-has-apparently-
been-finished-off-by-Voldemort reappears out of nowhere - alive.

Voldemort is actually put onto the back foot by this and he is obviously
beginning to psych himself up to have another go at Harry and prove that
he can kill him, having failed miserably in PS and GOF. Harry certainly
doesn't
seem to be intending to let to let himself be grabbed because that might put

Voldemort in the position of being able to have cast another spell with
Harry
unable to retaliate, hence the continual circling while Harry knocks out
each of
Voldemort's props, one by one.

Also, why should Voldemort and Harry be, presumably, alone in this standoff
on the Tower? Harry reappears in the midst of the battle in the Hall to
prevent Voldemort killing Molly and several others in his fury following
Bellatrix's death.... and the Hall is full of people

Geoff:
Possibly, but some stuff was left out possibly because of the two pointless
scenes I have mentioned.

We have had several instances in the films where extra bits and pieces have
been inserted and, in return, other things omitted, sometimes vital to
understanding the story line.

BTW, changing the subject, you ought to preface each of your replies with
your
name. Because you didn't in this post and did not leave any spaces after my
bit,
the entire post appears to be attributed to me and even I had difficulty at
first
glance picking out where my remarks ended and your replies began.....

In addition, you are not replying on my behalf as your heading implies. You
are responding on your own b

Marc's reply.
First, when replying / receiving in HTML my replies appear in blue and in a
different font, why would it occur to me that it wouldn't look that way to
you, I've been on list like this for 10 years, this is the first one where
it posed an issue.
Second, I leave the original info on top so people can see what the original
post came from, also, 10 years, 6 list, on matters here as far as I can
tell.
As to the DH trailer, I completely disagree. Harry has no reason in the book
to believe Voldy is any threat to him, the circling always felt like just a
way to get some dialogue in and because I think JK saw one too many films
where they circle each-other before a duel. We don't know that Harry isn't
rushing to help when he encounters Voldy, just that he encounters him
outside the clock tower.
My point is that in the half-seconds of footage in the trailer there's
nothing to suggest much of anything but grand conclusions drawn for the
point of complaining. Honestly, I wonder why most people here are here, most
of you seem to hate the films, complain endlessly about every detail of them
and speculate on how much you'll hate each up-coming one.
