I write using pen and ink mainly. I find it very difficult to compose
anything straight onto a computer. Also I find my writing is more
able to keep up with my mind than my typing. It is distracting to
pause halfway through a passage, when you are in full flow, because
someone has half inched the letter 'y' from your keyboard.
I usually write late into the night, but this is more to do with it
fitting in better with everything I do rather than necessarily being
the best time for me to write.
I write in my own version of shorthand. Based around a lot of
mathematical symbols and then shortening of words that only I could
consider. Combined with my extremally unreadable handwriting it
makes it impossible for anyone but me to actually know what I have
written.
The only problem with this method is it then leaves me to type it up
at a later date. Which is one very boring task and puts me off most
of the stories I have written.
