Slightly crossed wires I think. In you last message you pointed out 
that fug was a word for fog (quote: "It [fug] is a variant of fog."). 
Yes it is, but only in the sense I highlighted in my previous message.

Fug is also as you mention above, but I forgot (or didn't feel it was 
necessary) to add that to my post.
