I'm not taking any chances with doing a "Reply-to." I just put in the
address from my addressbook, just in case there's something a bit wacked out
on YahooMort. <BEG>
[Sherry G. said]:
| That's interesting, Lee. With JAWS--that's my screen reading program, for
| all the sighted people on the list--I can supposedly turn off punctuation
| being spoken at all on a temporary basis. but when I did this some very
| weird things happened, a nd I had to do a repair on the program and almost
| had to reinstall it. I think it must have gotten confused by the conflict
| with my normal punctuation settings. grin.
[Lee]: <Sigh>
There are things Jaws does better than Window-Eyes, but on-the-fly changes
aren't one of those things. Because Jaws is run by scripted files, things
can get a bit dodgy, I think. I've never used the program, so I can't say
for sure. I have, however, seen the scripting language and tucked my head
under my wing and ran. <Grin>
Since Window-Eyes is so nicely menu-driven, it's a lot easier to turn things
on and off.
For those of you who don't use text-to-speech screen-readers, if you'd like
some demos to play with, you can get a demo of Window-Eyes from G.W.Micro
at:
http://www.gwmicro.com .
They also have an FTP site.
For the Jaws program that Sherry uses, I believe you'll find a demo at:
http://www.freedomscientific.com .
Cheers,
Lee :-)
