My experience was much better this time than for OotP. We were out
of Hastings shortly after midnight, but still faced an hour drive
home 60 miles away. After delivering some other copies that I picked
up for people in our little town and drove 15 more miles to get to
out house in the country I finally started reading around 2:00 AM.
I got only two hours sleep that night, but a person has to sleep
sometime so eventually I pieced together about 8 hours by Sunday.
I have to admit that I shamelessly use my sick 21 year old daughter
as an excuse to miss my Bible class while I sat home and read. I knew
she was feeling really bad since she was halfway finished with her
copy and stopped reading. Of course, throwing up was also a clue.
When it came time for church I forced myself to pick up my Bible and
head off. Just in case I needed it, I put HBP in the car. (You never
know when you might get stuck in traffic - on a country road - or in
a booming town of 2000 people - on a Sunday morning.) As I was
walking into the building, I thought something felt odd about my
Bible. I looked down and instead of carring my Bible, I had HBP. I
said, "Oops! Wrong book!" and turned around to go back to the car.
An astute gentleman laughed and said, "Did you bring in Harry
Potter?" Blushing I had to admit he was right before going back for
my Bible. I then skipped our traditional family lunch at a local
restaurant to "check on how our daughter was feeling."
Daughter is better but not finished reading, and I am going mad
wanting to talk to someone.
