Haven't checked prices recently but computer DVD recorders are in the
$300 to $500 range. Any major recognizable brand name should be OK.
If the videos you are recording are NOT full length feature films,
then there is a good chance they will fit on a CD-ROM, in which case
both the disks and the Drive are much cheaper. A CD-RW now days can be
had for under $50. Video CD's will usually play in most new console
(connected to you TV) DVD players.
What you are really going to need is a Video Capture Device of some
kind. They are available in USB and Firewire computer interfaces, as
internal video capture cards, or built into high end VGA video cards,
and typically have composite or 'S'-video inputs.
These can run between $50 and $5,000 (yes, $5,000). You should be able
to find something you like in the $100 to $200 range. Record quality
varies greatly, so if you don't already have a video capture card, you
should research this very carefully.
Just passing it along.
