LOL!

After trying to catch-up on some HP LJ reading, I noticed one HP group
reference 'large asteroid about to destroy earth, end of the world
great sex, w00t' as a fic bunny and it reminded me of the second
meteor shower hitting Smallville. Lex leaned down to tell his
'comatose' (alien artifact stunned/zombie mode) father, Lionel, about
being the son his father wanted and then asked security to take Lionel
upstairs (a later scene showed Lionel on a bed).

Now, if I can make something out of Goblet of Fire's graveyard battle
between Harry Potter and Voldemort (BDSM, voyeurism, touch of
necrophilia and incest since this is occuring on Voldemort/Riddle's
dead father's grave), then I can make some inappropriate connections
with Lex and Lionel.

Still haven't seen the recording yet but plan to tonight. Dunno if
it's because they're fans of Tom Welling** but some seem to think he
did a good job in directing. {shrugs}

**Tom Welling is way too gorgeous and it's kinda sad that, when you
have a 'hot' sibling, other family members are often placed in
comparison--I can relate: sister as a pretty cheerleader and me as a
bookworm. Mark Welling (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1732304/ ) may not
have his brother, Tom's, model appearance
(http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0919991/ ) but he isn't 'ugly' as some
have called him.

So, it's somewhat interesting to see Tom Welling try a 'Hollywood' job
where his looks aren't the primary force.

I did see the scene where Lex tentatively kisses Lana and then Lana
goes back for a longer kiss. Heh, if you gotta do a rebound
relationship, a billionaire or heir to some serious $$$ isn't too bad.

Again, I have to see this episode in full but I know I like the Lexana
'theory'. In the Flatliners wannabe episode, Void, even with the
*second* warning from ghost!Lillian**, Lex continues making
destructive decisions, so it's rather inevitable Lex/Lana will end and
probably badly. However, it's the rather 'trainwreck' nature I find
my curiosity in... Just like Lionel Luthor and Martha Kent or, as an
HP slash fan, Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy or Harry and Snape.

**Lillian reminds me of Lily Potter in the sense Lillian also had red
hair, loved her son, and even from the dead, wanted to guide him, but
I think that's where the similiarities may end. As to the episode(s)
showing Lillian with dark hair, I'm in agreement she dyed her hair
that color toward the end of her marriage because she didn't like her
husband, Lionel, and he likes redheads.

:-)

I think what struck me as being most memorable was this air of sorrow
the 'Emma Watson' girl managed. I couldn't visualize Emma Watson as
carrying that off because she's such a hopeful person and so is the
character she portrays.

> Dina, I'm curious to know if you've ever given Veronica Mars a try --

I keep missing the show. I've read the description and it does sound
like a show I could jive with considering my past fancies:
Star Trek (stopped watching on Voyager's last season), HBO's Oz
(prison drama - series over), Homicide: Life on the Streets (same
series creators as Oz and various Ozzies guest appeared... plus a
psychotic Elijah Wood - series over), Law and Order: SVU (Oz actors in
opening credits and guests - stopped watching around the time of Cabot
["bespeckled blonde" attorney] leaving), bit of Forensic Files
(stopped watching), Six Feet Under (series over), Dead Like Me (series
cancelled), Odyssey 5 (series cancelled), and Carnivale (not so much
now). I tried watching Queer As Folk (US version) and the L Word and
they didn't really float my boat.

Murder/mystery/suspense has always been a favorite genre of mine.
While sci-fi/fantasy is something I consider 'fun'. For example,
catching some Xena or Stargate SG1 episodes. Though, I also like
periodically watching Daily Show, Bill Maher on HBO, and Penn&Teller's
Bullsh!t.

I think Smallville is the only series I try to consistently catch now
and I'm not really much of a series watcher in general. It'll
probably lose my interest at some point but it's still 'sparkly' to me
at this moment in time.

Fandom is something of an ebb'n'flow situation. At one point while I
was into Oz and LOTR, Smallville was the 'hot' fandom, and now, it's
fallen out of favour. I believe Supernatural is the 'hot' fandom now
with various HP folk dropping out of Harry Potter and into SPN. I
recently caught commentary in an HP community where they were
questioning how the 'old guard' seemed to be moving on while there was
only one more book left. However, there's usually fresh blood always
coming in.

For example, Sorority Boys came out in 2002 and on the heels of
Smallville being the 'hot' fandom. I saw it in 2005 and fell in love.
I'm like many fans in that I can generate such enthusiasm for
something I enjoy, but I also burn myself out faster and I start
looking for something new.

For me, it's seeing something and it figuratively 'clicking' for me.
I've said this before but Smallville clinched itself when I saw
Michael Rosenbaum exhausted, on the verge of tears and madness in the
episode appropriately named, Shattered. Whereas, in the years before,
I did catch snippets of Smallville but didn't get into the series. Oz
was the only exception: I saw a couple fan vids and knew I wanted to
see more of this series and learn how to vid.

Songvids make for an interesting 'pimping' method. :-) I've missed
flying out and going on a vacation/convention, and even though the
economic future is uncertain, I'm planning on heading out to Chicago
in August for a vidding convention, so I may end up hooked on another
fandom. {g}

{chuckle} Anything is possible but probable is another matter.

LOL! Though, it is rather interesting because Allison Mack/Chloe is
very pretty, and while I do want to bitch slap the character of Chloe
sometimes--damn girl, she needs to not get up in everyone's sh!t--I
wouldn't mind her. Yes, yes, I know she's still infatuated with Clark
but... hm, wishful thinking on my part that Chloe is a lesbian.
