Yes it is from yeast, but it tastes fine.
really really good on bread you made yourself which is still warm,
heaven on a stick!
There is a bar similar to VC called Crumble, not quite as nice though.
I believe it is called Marmite in the UK.
Marmite is a bit different, similar though.

Yeah you can still get those eggs, it's a good way to go about it.
look up a recipe online, you can certainly do it from scratch...
the trick is getting the top of it to be flat so you can top it with
fruit and cream and whatever you want, sometimes you get a peak which
isn't very handy. you can top them with anything... the full monty
or just cream and a crushed up flake bar, or a few strawberries.
normally it's passionfruit, banana, strawberries, kiwi fruit, pineapple
with a base of cream.
