montims: well, to me, HBP was very Dickensian in its description of
Spinners End, and the women; Merope and the orphanage were very
reminiscent of Oliver Twist; and the whole "thing" of choosing
particular names and characteristics for characters, and referring to
them by these characteristics, is very reminiscent of Dickens to me.
I have to confess my love for Bleak House above all others, but any
Dickens is good IMO.
