I agree. (a wave to the Mod)
I couldn't get into the forth one and so never finished the series. But
I quite enjoyed the first three. Maybe I'll wikipedia it after work and
get the spoilers.

I've read three of the Pendragon books. I only like the Pendragon
story, I find the kids back on Second Earth lacking an intrigueing
storyline.
I like Timothy Zahn's Dragonback series... as far as youth sci/fi goes.
He also writes some good Star Wars stories. For adult fantasy/horror
nothing beats Nancy A Collins trade paperback, Midnight Blue .
But I will be reading anything by Jonathan Stroud, Joss Whedon, Jeof
Loeb... perhaps some Brian Michael Bendis.
