<You remember where you were when Reagan was shot and the Challenger
exploded. (6th grade, playground, & 11th grade bio, standing over a
fetal pig)>
I was actually going to mention the Challenger in a future post (it
occurred to me on the way home from the DMV).
Sounds like you and I are about the same age.
Reagan: 7th grade, coming into my first class after lunch (home ec). We
spent the entire period watching TV for updates.
Challenger: Senior year of high school (2 days after my 18th birthday,
in fact). We were in the middle of finals and didn't have access to the
news, so I heard about it after the fact--on the radio on the way home
from school.
OK, to show myself further as a tweener:
JOHN Kennedy: Wouldn't be conceived for another three and a half years.
ROBERT Kennedy: I don't remember. I was alive, but still in diapers.
Martin Luther King Jr: ditto.
Melanie
