My dad let me watch The Blob when I was about 5 or 6, and also obligingly
pointed out that it could indeed squeeze through air conditioner vents and
under doors. I had a phobia about that one for years; wouldn't go to sleep
facing away from the room, in case it came in to get me. In fact, I wouldn't
even watch the movie again until after I was married.
