I know, as I knew from the start, that I had no real hope of winning
the "How has HP Changed My Life Contest" ut that didn't stop me from
imagining. For those of you that don't know, I'm not a full fledged
Grown-up just sixteen.
So, below you will find my entry. I would have posted it previously
but I was thinking rather superstitously that if y'all loved it I
would be jinxed and if you hated it I wuoldn't have a real hope of
winning....so now that those fears are out of the way tell me what
you think-
How Harry Potter Has Changed My Life.
>From the first page of Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone to the
last of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the story of the young
wizard has intrigued me. J.K. Rowling has woven her words into a
magical tapestry of action, suspense, emotions and much more. But
how has Harry Potter changed my life? Ever since I first saw this
question it has gotten me thinking. I would love to say that the
books have instilled upon me a life long love for reading except
I've
always loved to read. It would be great to proclaim that the books
have made me want to write but I've always enjoyed that as well.
No,
I really can't say that Harry has changed my life but I can say
that
he has made me look at life differently, even on my most Snape-ish
days. What house would I be in, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or
Slytherin? Which qualities describe me most and which qualities do I
most wish to obtain? The reasons why I love Harry Potter are nothing
more than because it is a good story. One whose themes of virtue,
honesty, loyalty, and trust have made me examine those things in my
own life and made me see how as I grow and change I can, like Harry,
make right decisions. In the words of Dumbledore "It is our
choices
that show who we really are, far more than our abilities."
Well? Also does anyone know if I can find a list of the winners???
(just curious)
